Philly Against McCainPit Bull Politics: This weekend, the TRUTH BITES BACK!Sarah Palin's pit bull speech last night was long on bark but short on biting truths. The governor who equates her 20-month Alaskan micro-resume to Hillary Clinton's decades of national/international experience, who lies about opposing the Bridge to Nowhere, and who blames the media for revealing her hypocrisy on the subjects like lobbyists, earmarks, and Government spending, did prove to be an apt choice for John McCain in at least one way: Just like the guy at the top of the ticket, she backs up BIG TALK with POOR JUDGEMENT. Are you itching to tell undecided voters the TRUTH about McCain and Palin? Do you understand - now more than ever - why we need Barack Obama's wisdom in the White House instead of McCain's continuation of Bush-style recklessness?
Then hit the doors this weekend with Philly Against McCain! We're taking the TRUTH to Center City this Saturday and Sunday September 6 & 7 in a CANVASS of traditionally Democratic neighborhoods that have yet to show support for Obama. We've studied the records and found neighborhoods that Democrats carried in large numbers in recent presidential elections, but that did not support Obama in the primary. We know Obama needs to get every vote he can from Philly to compensate for the votes McCain/Palin will likely get from other parts of the state. Obama must carry PA in order to win, and he needs a HUGE vote from Philly to win PA! That's why folks are signing up to canvass with Philly AGAINST McCain this weekend. Here's how it works: WE supply canvass training, clipboards, specially-targeted literature, walk-lists of Democratic voters, and canvassing partners YOU supply the will to win. TOGETHER we help bring Obama VICTORY!!!
CAN YOU MEET US TO CANVASS THIS WEEKEND?
WHERE: LaVa Cafe, 2100 South St.
We'll have fun, persuade some undecided voters, and best of all, Philly Against McCainThe 2008 election is just five short months away. While it's easy to get caught up in the seemingly endless primary season, we all know how much is at stake this year. That's why Philly For Change has launched the Philly Against McCain campaign. Inspired by the winning 2006 Philly Against Santorum effort, we're starting work now, to help win the critical swing state of Pennsylvania in November. Make no mistake: John McCain is very conservative. On the most important issues we face today, such as the war, the environment, women's reproductive freedom, healthcare, Social Security, civil liberties and social justice, McCain is the same, or worse than Bush: he's truly McSame, the enemy of change. We'll knock on doors, make phone calls, hold fun events, put up posters, take out ads and much more to make sure that all local voters know that electing John McCain would be like a 3rd Bush term. To help us take a positive step together toward victory in November, learn more at our MeetUp on Wednesday, June 4, Philly For Change Meetup at 7:00 at Tritone, 1508 South Street.
