Monthly Meeting - October 1

Banks fail, the economy crumbles, the Treasury Secretary begs on one knee, but through it all Philly For Change pushes on for progressive reform.

In these times of uncertainty, it's good to know there are some things we can count on. One of those things is that Philly for Change will meet the first Wednesday of every month.

This Wednesday, Oct 1 will be our last chance before the election to get together to learn about what we can do to defeat John McCain, and elect Barack Obama President of the United States.

We'll meet State Representative Rick Taylor (D-Montco), State Representative candidate Frank Custer (61st),and others who will share their goals and vision for reforming Harrisburg to make state government work for all of us,instead of just the special interests.

We'll also hear latest on health care reform. Pennsylvania is poised to take a major step forward in providing quality, affordable health care to all. Governor Rendell has been negotiating with the Republican leadership of the State Senate over legislation that would insure another 27 5,000 Pennsylvanians. Find out what you can do to make it happen.

Get Involved! Make a difference!

Save the Country and the Economy! Canvass with Philly Against McCain This Weekend!

Republican Rule means economic turmoil,
but John McCain's lies could give us four more years!
Philly Against McCain

McCain's shameless hypocrisy has made the presidential race, with a month to go, a virtual toss-up.  Here in the critical Swing State Pennsylvania - Barack Obama cannot win without it - Moderate Democratic voters in South Philly and Northeast Philly are still making up their minds.  Obama needs a HUGE victory in the city to offset likely losses in other parts of the state. Obama needs his supporters to stand up for him, expose McCain's hypocrisy, and tell their undecided neighbors that we can't take four more years of Republican Rule!

Are you ready to STAND UP FOR OBAMA and FIGHT McCAIN'S LIES?

Are you ready to look undecided voters in the eye and tell them the truth:
WE CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE?!?

Then come out this weekend with PHILLY AGAINST McCAIN - the great campaign of PHILLY FOR CHANGE  - talks to critical Moderate Democratic voters in our

Here's how it works:

WE supply canvass training, clipboards, specially-targeted literature, walk-lists of Democratic voters, and canvassing partners

TOGETHER we help deliver Obama VICTORY in PHILLY, PA, the WHOLE COUNTRY!

CAN YOU MEET US TO CANVASS THIS WEEKEND?

If you can, please email Sam
or  call (267) 307-8821.

The future comes down to THE NEXT 5 WEEKS.

Philly Against McCain

The 2008 election is just five short months away. While it's easy to get caught up in the seemingly endless primary season, we all know how much is at stake this year.

That's why Philly For Change has launched the Philly Against McCain campaign. Inspired by the winning 2006 Philly Against Santorum effort, we're starting work now, to help win the critical swing state of Pennsylvania in November.

Make no mistake: John McCain is very conservative. On the most important issues we face today, such as the war, the environment, women's reproductive freedom, healthcare, Social Security, civil liberties and social justice, McCain is the same, or worse than Bush: he's truly McSame, the enemy of change.

We'll knock on doors, make phone calls, hold fun events, put up posters, take out ads and much more to make sure that all local voters know that electing John McCain would be like a 3rd Bush term.

To help us take a positive step together toward victory in November, learn more at our MeetUp on Wednesday, June 4, Philly For Change Meetup at 7:00 at Tritone, 1508 South Street. Click here to RSVP.
